Rosemarino D'Italia in Del Ray.
The beloved local Italian restaurant Rosemarino D'Italia reopened in Del Ray on Monday. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place this Friday at 4 p.m.
The restaurant had closed in the summer of 2021 due to difficulties from the pandemic. The restaurant said at the time that customers rallied around them but their landlord did not. The building has remained vacant since the restaurant closed.
In March, the restaurant hung a banner on the building announcing they would be reopening this year in their original location at 1905 Mt. Vernon Ave.
The restaurant also operates a location in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC, that has remained open.
Rosemarino D’Italia opened its Alexandria location in March 2013. "Rosemeri’s mission was to share her passion for Italian food with the Alexandria community. After 8 years, and the support of her fellow patrons, Rosemeri decided to open her second location in Dupont Circle, Washington D.C in 2019," according to the restaurant.
