For those strolling along Alexandria's waterfront hungry for a bite to eat and a spot to relax, there's a new casual option: Riverside Taco Company.
The new eatery located at 105-107 N. Union Street in front of the Torpedo Factory Art Center, serves food from a vintage Airstream trailer and offers seating with a view of the water.
It opened Friday, June 21 and offers up a menu that features tacos, guacamole, chips and salsa and street corn (cotija-lime cream, chipotle and cilantro) as well as beverages including frozen margaritas and sangria. Also on the beverage menu are draft beers including: Devils Backbone Gold Leaf, Port City Optmal Wit and Smartmouth Game On.
You can also order a bowl with a choice of protein, bandora rice, frijoles Rojas, pico de Gallo, cotija cheese, cilantro and lime crema. A vegetarian option is also available. Tacos are $4 each and served with corn tortillas, chopped cilantro and cotija cheese.
Chef Santiago Lopez, who hails from Bogota, Colombia, created the menu.
