Plans are moving along for a new restaurant in Del Ray. Catch on the Avenue, located at 2419 Mount Vernon Ave., will feature a seafood menu influenced by East Asia and Southeast Asia, according to Visit Alexandria.
The location was formerly home to Snackbar and before that Caboose Cafe.
Snackbar opened in 2017 and closed in August.
Catch on the Avenue is a venture from Common Plate Hospitality — the team behind Mason Social, Augie’s Mussel Bar and the soon-to-open Urbano 116.
The special permit application shows Catch on the Avenue will be a full-service restaurant serving beer and wine, possibly with live entertainment and large screen televisions. The application notes that the restaurant concept is still under development. There is no estimate on an opening date yet.
