A new craft distillery and tasting room has opened in Alexandria.
Orkney Springs creates gluten-free vodka made from European wheat and proofed with Orkney Spring water. The distillery also offers gin.
The distillery and tasting room is open now at 3125 Mount Vernon Ave. in Del Ray near Arlandria, and drinkers can reserve tastings through the website.
Orkney Springs Distillery also has locations in Springfield and Orkney Springs, Virginia. (Orkney Spring is a town in the western Shenandoah mountains, north of Harrisonburg.)
Founded in 2019, Orkney Springs Distillery "was founded to create craft distilled spirits that are best in class and truly remarkable," according to the company's website.
