Alexandria-based Neighborhood Restaurant Group has been nominated for a RAMMY Award, presented by the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW).
Their nomination is in a new, coronavirus-influenced category: Most Impressive Pivot to Provisions or Market.
Last year, Neighborhood Restaurant Group launched Neighborhood Provisions, operating out of a former restaurant in Del Ray. Neighborhood Provisions offers "comfort meals, ready-to-cook foods, pantry items, wine, beer, cocktails, spirits and more all delivered contact-free to your doorstep," the website explains. The pivot was designed to help pay restaurant employees when restaurants shut down due to the pandemic, but the service has become a loved addition to the local food scene.
Items from Neighborhood Provisions include new farm boxes, which change weekly, butchered meats, soups and unique ingredients. Neighborhood Provisions serves the District, Arlington, Alexandria (City) and Montgomery County, Maryland. Learn more at neighborhoodprovisions.com.
In addition, Shababi was nominated for Outstanding Ghost Kitchen or Pop-Up Concept.
The Bun Papa is among the nominees for the Hottest New Sandwich Spot.
The awards are scheduled for Sept. 19 with a gala in Washington, D.C.
