Nando's Peri-Peri has closed in Old Town but a new restaurant is opening in the Carlyle neighborhood.
Nando's operated for years out of a historic building at 702 King St., but the chicken company opted out of that building and is moving a few miles west to new construction.
The restaurant will open later this year at 2462 Mandeville Lane, near Wegmans and the AMC movie theater.
An opening date has not been announced yet, but the restaurant is hiring.
Residents who sign up on the restaurant's Alexandria web page can get a free meal when it opens.
Nando's Peri-Peri has more than a dozen locations in the District, Virginia and Maryland.
