The Lorien Hotel & Spa has reopened its popular and highly-rated dining destination, The Tasting Room, at 1602 King St.
With a new vibe and new menu items, Chef Fredy Garciaguirre takes the helm at the restaurant. Garciaguirre has worked at places like Succotash, Kimpton’s Palomar Hotel and Lorien's Brabo restaurant in Old Town Alexandria.
The Tasting Room has been fully renovated, with design by Lumber & Light, showcasing both airy elements with coziness. "Beautiful lighting and playful design elements will leave guests feeling like they’ve stumbled into a secret sanctuary tucked away in historic Alexandria," according to The Lorien.
“The new Tasting Room will be a charming concept uniquely positioned at the cross-section of both neighborhood darling and destination cocktail joint – a place where you come as you are – a place where you can wear your Friday finest or kick back in blue jeans and high-tops,” said Phillip Blane, General Manager of the Lorien Hotel & Spa. “We are so thrilled to bring this restaurant back for the Alexandria community and area visitors to enjoy again. It will be a destination perfect for pre-dinner tipples, grabbing a beer with a neighbor, or enjoying a nightcap. A great addition to Alexandria’s thriving culinary scene.”
Menu items now include hearth baked goat cheese, skilett cornbread, Moroccan flatbreads, a signature cocktail menu and much more.
Openings hours are Sunday through Thursday 4 - 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 4 - 10 p.m.
