This year's high school and college seniors have given up a lot this spring, from leaving their friends and school to finish online to canceling graduation parties.
Krispy Kreme is trying to make them feel a little bit bitter — with sugary goodness.
This coming Tuesday, May 19, Krispy Kreme is giving away free "Graduate Dozen" donuts to graduating high school and college students. The donuts include chocolate, strawberry and lemon donuts decorated with 2020.
To receive their dozen donuts, students should don their cap and gown or wear a piece of "Class of 2020" clothing or other gear when they visit their local participating Krispy Kreme.
“We feel for all of the high school and college seniors. We wish they had that moment of walking across the stage and getting their diploma.. We can’t replace that … but we thought we could help them safely have a little fun and enjoy a special ‘Graduate Dozen’ on us," said Dave Skena, CMO for Krispy Kreme in a press release.
Here in the Alexandria area, Krispy Kreme is located at 6332 Richmond Highway in Southeast Fairfax County.
