A new Jamaican restaurant at 2817 Schooley Dr. opened earlier this month and is already receiving many positive reviews on Google and Nextdoor.
The restaurant is tucked away on a small street near the Bucknell Manor neighborhood and across Route 1 from the Beacon Center shopping mall.
According to the restaurant’s website, owner and namesake Ruby was born in Jamaica and immigrated to the Unites States in the 1980s.
She has run a successful catering business since 2010 and finally opened her restaurant this month.
The restaurant’s mission is “to excite your taste buds with the most savory, authentic taste of Jamaican cuisine, while offering utmost hospitality and service to all who enter our domain.”
The menu features Jamaican classics like jerk chicken as well as ackee (Jamaica’s national fruit) and saltfish or curry goat as well as a variety of patties, soups, wraps, sides and salads.
