Hank's Pasta Bar closed at the end of September after 3 years in business.
The restaurant, at 600 Montgomery Street in Old Town North, closed to make room for a new Italian restaurant that will open later this year.
The new restaurant will have a seasonal rooftop bar and an expanded menu, and it will be helmed by the same team that was behind Hank's Pasta Bar — Chef Jamie Leeds and JL Restaurant Group.
This note was posted on Hank's front door:
After 3 great years in Old Town, Hank's Pasta Bar will be closing to make space for a new, unnamed concept from JL Restaurant Group.
Starting Thursday September 26th, the restaurant will be closed to work on some exciting renovations that bring new options to our loyal guests and fans, including a seasonal rooftop bar and an expanded regional Italian menu.
The new addition will open at the end of 2019 with the same warm hospitality, leadership team and hand-crafted plates and pastas.
Updates will be posted on Hank's Pasta Bar Facebook page here. You can also follow Hank's on Instagram.
Hank's Pasta Bar is owned and operated by Jamie Leeds, who opened Hank's Oyster Bar in 2005. There are now four Oyster Bar locations.
Hank's Pasta Bar opened in late 2016, around the same time as Hank's Cocktail Bar in Northwest D.C.
