After weeks of rumors about whether Faccia Luna was just updating their building sign or really closing, the restaurant made an official announcement: It's closing on Friday, Dec. 23.
The popular Italian trattoria has been serving Alexandria diners for 27 years. The restaurant is located at 823 S. Washington St.
Faccia Luna opened its first restaurant in 1989, and opened Alexandria in the late 1990s. It also operated a restaurant in State College, Pennsylvania, which remains open as a pizzeria. The Alexandria restaurant is the only remaining restaurant in the DC metro area.
