Coronavirus has claimed another local business — this time, Nectar Coffee and Wine Bistro.
The cafe at 106 Hume Ave. on the north end of Del Ray closed due to COVID-19 restrictions and will not be opening.
Co-owner wrote in a Facebook group" "Hi all. My sister & I have decided not to reopen Nectar. It was a really tough decision. We loved running Nectar, had awesome staff & so enjoyed all our customers. Thank you to everyone for your business. We truly appreciate all your kind words. See you in the neighborhood."
Her announcement, made in a comment on a post inquiring about the cafe's status, was met with disappointment by residents.
The global pandemic has hit the restaurant industry particularly hard. Earlier this month, La Tasca announced it was closing and several other restaurants are still deciding whether they'll reopen this summer.
