Cortado Cafe
A new coffee shop has opened in the Shoppes of Foxchase shopping center in Alexandria's West End.
"So far, so good," said the owners, who have decades of experience in the hospitality industry.
The well-lit cafe, which took over the space of a salon, serves a variety of baked goods in addition to a full menu of hot breakfast and lunch items, salads, coffee drinks, teas and milkshakes. Online ordering is available for quick pick-up and the coffee shop has plenty of seating
The word cortado comes from the Spanish 'to cut' and in this context it refers to cutting an espresso with milk to reduce the acidity of the drink.
The coffee shop has plenty of seating. Hours are 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. daily.
