Spill the Tea, a new café focusing on bubble tea, is seeking a permit to open near the Braddock Road Metro station.
In addition to bubble tea, the shop would have coffee and other drinks, salads and other cold food options, as first reported by Patch.
Bubble tea, for those unfamiliar, is a drink most often made with iced tea, sweetened milk and tapioca balls. It comes in a variety of flavors.
Spill the Tea would be located at 515A Braddock Road. The permit application with the City shows $45,000 in renovation costs for the 1,100 square foot property. The shop is just a few doors down from Dos Amigos at the intersection of Braddock Road and West Street very close to the Braddock Road Metro station.
