Aslin Beer Co. has opened its new tasting room at 847 S. Pickett St. in the city's West End neighborhood.
The space is 25,000 square feet, which includes 15,000 square feet of production, a large tasting room and private event space. The company also has a to-go distribution facility in Herndon.
Aslin Beer Co. started as a home-brewing operation before opening its doors as a small business in 2015 in Herndon.
One of the reasons Alexandria was a natural choice, Andrew Kelley, a co-founder of Aslin Beer, told Alexandria Living Magazine earlier this year, is because Port City has done such a good job of "paving the way" for other craft beer companies.
They also like the neighborhood feel of Alexandria, its number of small, family-owned businesses and its walkability, Kelly said.
In addition to Kelley, the other partners in the business are Kai Leszkowicz and Richard Thompson.
Alexandria hours for the new location in Alexandria's West End are Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. - 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. - 11 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Food trucks will various appetizers and sandwiches from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. Sundays. Outside food is not allowed at this time. Aslin Beer Co. plans to expand these hours and offerings in the coming weeks.
Children are welcome in the tasting room until 7 p.m. daily.
