While many residents were saddened to see the closing this past weekend of longtime Atlantis Restaurant & Pizza at Bradlee Shopping Center, there is news that two new pizza restaurants will be opening soon in the area.
Coming soon to Bradlee Shopping Center, 3690L King St., will be what The Washington Post calls "the pizza shop for the 21st century" — &pizza— set to open in February on the other side of the shopping center. The space is being built out by Itek Construction of Herndon.
The trademark oblong-shaped pizzas are customizable and got voted "best pizza" by Washington City Paper in 2017.
Other &pizzas are also planned in the Alexandria area — at The Foundry on Eisenhower Avenue and in Kingstowne Center. They will open later this year. The D.C.-based company was founded in 2012.
Also on the pizza front, just over the Arlington County border in Shirlington, look for Stellina Pizzeria to open soon. The new pizza place will take the spot of Cafe Pizzaiolo, which closed last year (the nearby Fern Street location remained open).
The new Stellina Pizzeria location is an offshoot of the original at Union Market in D.C., featuring Neo-Neopolitan pizza.
Stellina is hiring for full-time and part-time positions including shift leaders, managers, line cooks, prep, dishwasher, food runners, busers and cashiers to join their team.
