Due to concern for guests and volunteers, Lee-Fendall House Museum is taking their fifth annual Sips & Secrets: A Speakeasy Night online this year.
Join the museum’s board, staff, and friends for a night of speakeasy-style fun from the comfort of home. The event will support the museum’s vital work in historic preservation and education, while keeping up what has become a popular local tradition.
The online party kicks off with an exclusive cocktail lesson courtesy of Alexandria's most exciting new eatery, King’s Ransom. Next, learn the latest dance crazes from 1920 with a dance class, led by acclaimed local performers Fidgety Feet and accompanied by a few swinging jazz standards - remember to wear your 20s best for the virtual costume contest.
Finally, take a special virtual tour of Lee-Fendall that focuses on its Prohibition past, when it was home to Alexandria's leading liquor purveyors. Along the way, learn about the museum's new programming and initiatives and find out how you can be a part of them.
Two ticket levels are on offer. Bootleggers receive a special gift bag with hard-to-find cocktail ingredients, a souvenir glass, and other fun treats - with pickup available at the museum on Sept. 25 or 26, or contactless delivery within five miles of Old Town Alexandria.
Foxtrotters receive live online access to the event, ideal for a fun evening while supporting the museum from a distance.
Opportunities to sponsor the event or donate a prize to the online silent auction are available by calling or emailing Megan Ritter Judt, event chairperson, at megan.ritter@leefendallhouse.org, or call us at (703) 548-1789.
