SENIOR WALK

Help us to get seniors on their feet and walking and to help them add walking to a daily routine. The event will help to raise funding for Community Impact Grants for Alexandria Non-profits. All proceeds, net of expenses, benefit United Way of the National Capital Area.

​The walk will start in Oronoco Bay Park, adjacent to the back patio of United Way Worldwide. WALKERS will walk North along the walking path and will turn around before they reach the Mt. Vernon Trail and head back South on the walking path ending up in the Park adjacent to United Way for complimentary light refreshments. Travel distances will be marked on the walking path (participants may walk any distance they choose). Admission as a WALKER will be $25 and caps and t-­shirts may be sold as well. Water will be available. Warm up stretching exercises will take place before the walk and “cool down” exercises will take place when it is over. Experts on nutrition and exercise for seniors will be available for a chat.​​
