Brooklyn Mack, guest principle dancer, formerly of Washington Ballet, to perform as Cavalier in the Metro School of the Arts Nutcracker.
The Metropolitan School of the Arts Nutcracker Ballet returns to Alexandria, Va. on Sat., Dec. 8 and Sun., Dec. 9, showcasing a world-class, international principle guest dancer, Brooklyn Mack, who performs the role of Cavalier. Mack, formerly with the Washington Ballet will perform at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Center, NOVA Alexandria campus with seatings at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. both days. Ticket costs are from $26 to $28. Mack, originally from Elgin, South Carolina, is an international principal guest dancer. He began his dance training at age 12 with the Pavlovich Dance School under Radenko Pavlovich and Milena Leben before receiving a scholarship to study at the Kirov Academy of Ballet. While at the Kirov Ballet, he trained primarily under the auspices of Anatoli Kucheruk and Vladimir Djouloukhadze. After graduating, Mack then apprenticed with the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago and later joined American Ballet Theatre’s Studio Company. He spent three seasons as a principal dancer with Orlando Ballet before becoming a principal dancer of The Washington Ballet where he danced for nine seasons. Mack has danced a wide array of choreography, spanning many different styles between classical, neoclassical, contemporary, abstract, and modern works throughout his career.
