Meet the AWLA & Adoptable Animals

We are more than an animal shelter, impacting our community in a variety of ways. From Community Programs, like our Pet Pantry and free vaccine clinics, to animal behavior and training assistance, to protecting Alexandria’s wildlife … we do many different things to support animals and people in our community. Want to learn more?

Make plans to join us Wednesday, April 17 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at Gustave Boulangerie’s outdoor garden in Del Ray for a social hour to meet the AWLA team and some of our adoptable animals!

We will have activities for kids, a dog training clicker demo, plus guests will have the chance to meet our leadership team, including our Executive Director, Chief of Animal Services, Behavior and Training team, and more. We will also have our mobile surgical and adoption unit Waggin’ Wheels on-site for tours. And – of course – we will have some adorable dogs available for adoption!

Everyone is welcome (including well-behaved, leashed dogs) and small bites from Gustave Boulangerie will be provided.
