Lecture: 1066: How the Norman Conquest Changed England Forever

Office of Historic Alexandria
Join Dr. Jennifer Paxton, Professor, Catholic University, as she explores what really changed when William, Duke of Normandy, defeated the English at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. In England, the English church, government, and culture were transformed by their encounter with the Normans, and Normandy was also changed as the result of being ruled from across the English Channel.
The lecture is sponsored by the Alexandria-Caen Sister City Committee, a committee of the Office of Historic Alexandria. Guests will receive an email with the Zoom meeting link, Meeting ID, and password the day prior to the event. Ticket sales will close at 4 p.m. on the day of the event. Tickets are $6 per link.
