Belle Haven Park 6036 Grove Drive, Alexandria, Virginia 22307
The International Association for Spelling as Communication (I-ASC), a Virginia-based nonprofit organization that works with people with disabilities who cannot communicate through speech, is hosting a charity race.
Starting and ending in Belle Haven Park in Alexandria on April 6 from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., there will be a 10k, 5k, and a 1-mile walk/run. Register here!
I-ASC teaches people to communicate by pointing to letters on a stencil board, which allows them to express their thoughts and ideas. Doing so opens a world of possibilities for people who are typically underestimated and overlooked. Many of the people we work with go on to successful endeavors like publishing books, starting businesses, and graduating from college.
