Dispose of unwanted and expired prescriptions and other medications safely at this free “Drug Take Back” event. These events help prevent pills from being abused or stolen.

There are four locations, all are open starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. They will be open until 2 p.m.

The Alexandria Police Department and the Alexandria Sheriff’s Office, with cooperation from the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Alexandria, are staffing multiple drop off sites for Drug Take Back. 

Drop offs are completely anonymous, no questions asked.

Here are the locations:

Alexandria Police Department, 3600 Wheeler Ave., Community Room, Room 106 (First Floor)

First Baptist Church of Alexandria, 2932 King St.

Fire Station 210 at 5255 Eisenhower Ave.

The Neighborhood Pharmacy of Del Ray, 2204 Mount Vernon Ave.

The Neighborhood Pharmacy of Del Ray is one of many locations that accept unused medications year-round.  Locations in Fairfax County are listed at https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/health/drug-disposal.

Don’t flush unused medications – they end up in our rivers and streams.
