Bike to Work Day
You should always be on the lookout for bicycle commuters—but pay extra attention on Friday, May 18.

Commuter Connections and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association are hosting Bike to Work Day, a free event encouraging commuters to bicycle to and from work.
The first 20,000 people who register on the website to bicycle to work can show up to their choice of more than 100 pit stops along bicycle commuting routes and pick up a free t-shirt, refreshments and a raffle entry for a new bicycle.
Registration is open now at biketoworkmetrodc.org.
The Alexandria pit stops are at the following locations:
- Carlyle: John Carlyle Square Park, 300 John Carlyle St.
- Del Ray: Colasanto Park, 2704 Mount Vernon Ave.
- Fairlington: Fairlington Centre, 1711 Centre Plaza
- Franconia: Springfield/Metro Park, 6354 Walker Lane
- Huntington: Community Center, 5751 Liberty Dr.
- Mark Center: North Parking Garage, across from 4825 Mark Center Dr.
- Mount Vernon: Collingwood Park, enter park from West Boulevard near Chadwick Avenue
- Old Town: Market Square at Alexandria City Hall, 301 King St.
