Alexandria/USA Birthday Celebration and Community Singalong

This summer may feel a little bit different, but nothing will keep Alexandria from celebrating its birthday.

The City announced it will host a virtual celebration in honor of Alexandria’s 271^st and the USA’s 244^th birthday on July 11, 2020. While there won’t be the usual fireworks and birthday cake, there will plenty for people to experience from home.

Enjoy music from the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra and Navy Commodores as well as a special poem written for the occasion by Alexandria Poet Laureate, KaNikki Jakarta.

The City encourages everyone to participate in a Facebook Live community singalong of “Happy Birthday” at 7 p.m. led by local singer and songwriter, Lea.
