11th Annual Cherry Challenge

In honor of our first president’s birthday month, the George Washington Birthday Celebration Committee is hosting the 11th Annual Cherry Challenge from Sunday, January 27 through Sunday, February 10.

In this friendly culinary competition, Alexandria restaurants are challenged to create one or more cherry-centric dishes. Diners vote for their favorite cocktail, appetizer, entrée or dessert, based on taste, creativity, and presentation. 

Winners will be announced on Monday, February 18 and are given special recognition during the George Washington Birthday Parade on the same day.
