Sephora will open in Random Harvest's former location at 810 King St. in Old Town Alexandria. An opening date has not been announced.
Sephora plans to open a makeup and beauty retail store in Alexandria this year at 810 King St., according to permits filed with the City of Alexandria.
Random Harvest formerly occupied the space. It has moved to another location in the same block of King Street.
Sephora, which features a variety of beauty items for hair and skin, make-up and more, is owned by LVMH Moet Hennessey Louis Vuitton. The company has more than 2,500 stores in 32 countries worldwide, with exponential growth since its opening in New York City’s Soho neighborhood in 1998.
Sephora already has retail outlets at Pentagon City and Clarendon in Arlington, the Springfield mall, and in Washington, D.C.
Sephora’s corporate communications department, responding to an email from Alexandria Living Magazine, only provided a press release that listed, “Alexandria, VA” on a long list of store opening locations in 2019.
Asana Partners, which owns the building, declined to reveal plans for the store.
However, construction permits filed with the City of Alexandria state there is ongoing work for a new retail client, which they state is Sephora, at 810 King St.
“Work includes, but it is not limited to, construction of interior walls/partitions, wall fixtures, flooring, ceiling light fixtures, and partial mechanical, electrical and plumbing,” according to permits. Total renovation costs are expected to be $615,000. (See the permits here.)
There are currently job postings on Indeed.com for Sephora at 810 King St.
