A real estate investment firm has purchased the Restaurant Eve building, 110 S. Pitt St. in Old Town Alexandria for $3.125 million, the firm announced.
White Star Investments announced Thursday that it has acquired the building in a move they said reflects their focus on acquiring urban properties in the D.C area. The 9,000 square foot building consists of 4,200 square feet of restaurant space that was occupied by Restaurant Eve for the past 14 years. The building also has three residential units and one office user. A large outdoor patio/courtyard area for the restaurant is permitted for outdoor seating.
White Star is actively pursuing an upscale restaurant tenant for the early 1800s building — an eatery they said, that will "fit the bustling dining scene in Old Town."
“Alexandria was a logical move based on its vicinity to D.C and the culture that is growing around the city of Alexandria," said Rueben Bajaj, a principal at the company.
The acquisition is White Star’s 11th commercial asset in the DC Metro area. Jacob Ermer of Hogan represented the buyer; Geoffrey G. Lindsay of Capital Realty Advisors represented the seller.
White Star Investments is a privately owned real estate investment firm based in Bethesda.
Restaurant Eve was one of Alexandria's top restaurants with award-winning Chef Cathal Armstrong at the helm; President Obama and wife Michelle dined there in 2011 to celebrate their wedding anniversary. The restaurant got its name when Cathal and Meshelle Armstrong named it after their daughter. The other restaurants they are involved with include Eamonn's and Hummingbird in Alexandria, as well as Kaliwa at The Wharf on the DC waterfront.
