As telecommuting takes off this summer in the Alexandria area thanks to the Metro shutdown, a new space for telecommuters, small business owners and independent contractors has opened.
Spaces is located at 2000 Duke Street, taking up the third floor of the Motley Fool building in the Carlyle neighborhood near the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
The third floor offers a wide variety of areas, from modern open spaces for collaboration and open co-working to more traditional offices. Offices includes spaces for just one to three people, small teams and larger companies. The largest office suite can host most than 30 people.
In addition, Spaces offers unique collaboration spaces, a wellness room, more than one kitchen, an outdoor patio and quiet rooms. Members can also use the building's fitness center and 'check out' a bicycle to use around town.
All offices and co-working spaces have windows with tree-line views of the neighborhood.
Memberships start at less than $300 per month and can scale with a business. Current tenants include people working in healthcare, accounting, legal, real estate, IT and creative fields. There are multiple other Spaces in the DC area and through a partnership with Regus office spaces, members can work at one of thousands of locations nationwide.
