A new Harris Teeter grocery store in Alexandria is holding a grand opening on Wednesday, June 23 beginning at 8 a.m. at 4550 King St., in the West Alex development at the corner of King and Beauregard streets.

This will be the third Harris Teeter location in Alexandria; the other two are located in Old Town and at the Shoppes of Foxchase in West End Alexandria. The Harris Teeter in Arlington's Shirlington Village is nearby; it is smaller and on two levels.
The new 72,000-square foot store at West Alex is all on one level and offers parking in an underground garage with both an elevator and escalator for shoppers.
The new Harris Teeter will feature a Starbucks coffee shop, as well as other signature Harris Teeter amenities, including store-made pizza; a hot foods bar; a sub shop; fresh sushi; express lane online shopping and a pharmacy. The store will feature 12 checkout lanes and six express checkouts.
Regular hours will be 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Starbucks hours will be 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The store will feature USDA-Certified very tender dry aged beef, fresh store-made burgers, sausage and kabobs, a full-service seafood market, handmade lobster rolls, a full-service floral department, farmers market produce, a full-service fresh foods market deli/bakery, sushi, "Build Your Own 6-Pack," double coupons and a Club 60 discount.
Harris Teeter works to be a community partner by supporting local food banks, youth sports organizations and local schools, among other non-profit organizations.
