The CVS store at 1521 Quaker Lane is currently undergoing an extensive renovation and expansion that will continue through the fall.
CVS is expanding its store into the space that was previously occupied for many years by local florists Foxglove Flowers as well as Edible Arrangements. Both businesses have been closed for some time. Although Foxglove Flowers was in business for 35 years, it continues on with a new owner doing business online making local deliveries.
Employees say CVS will remain open throughout the renovation so customers won't be inconvenienced.
City construction permits show that the owner is spending more than $1 million on renovations including adding new updated signs, restrooms, new wiring for lights and outlets and a new HVAC system.
Here are some of the big changes to expect at the CVS store:
- A larger pharmacy
- Public handicap-accessible restrooms
- A new checkout area where the cosmetics department is currently located
- A new cosmetics department where the checkout area is currently located
- New floors
- New countertops
The store's hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Stay tuned for a possible "grand re-opening" in the fall.
