Doyles Outpost will spend $700,000 to renovate the former AMF Seminary Lanes bowling alley in Alexandria to turn it into a laser tag and arcade center. according to construction records filed with the City of Alexandria.
The City Planning Commission approved the special use permit application for the entertainment space in September, filed by Doyles Outpost LLC c/o Kevin Fagan.
Doyles Outpost LLC filed the application last summer to bring the laser tag center to Seminary Plaza Shopping Center, in the space formerly occupied by AMF Seminary Lanes bowling alley, which closed in 2005. The address is 4620-A Kenmore Ave. The nearly 15,400-square foot space is next door to Planet Fitness.
In addition to laser tag, the 15,400-square foot center would include arcade games and a virtual reality attraction. Dining would include appetizers, salads, sandwiches, pizza and desserts. Plans also call for beer, wine and mixed drink offerings.
Proposed hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
No timeframe has been announced for an opening date.
