Two local, seasonal farmers markets are opening this week in the Alexandria area.
In Fairfax County, the Kingstowne Farmers Market is opening Friday and will be open weekly from 4 - 7 p.m. every Friday through late October.The Kingstowne Farmers Market is located at 5844-5862 Kingstowne Center.
The market includes fruits and vegetables, kettle corn, Middle Eastern foods, baked goods and more. Learn more about the Kingstowne Farmers Market here.
The farmers market in the parking lot of the Sherwood Regional Library — the McCutcheon/Mount Vernon Farmers Market — will be open every Wednesday starting May 1 from 8 a.m. to noon. The market will close Dec. 18 for the winter. Sherwood Regional Library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane.

There will be no Huntington Farmers Market this year at the Huntington Metro Station. WMATA is closing all six Metro rail stations south of Reagan National Airport from Memorial Day weekend through early September as part of an intensive station restoration project.
Other Markets Open
In the City of Alexandria, the Old Town Farmers Market is hosting its spring kick-off event Saturday, May 4. Warm-weather vendors will return and new vendors are joining the Market Square event. The Old Town Farmers Market is open on Saturday mornings year-round. The May 4 event will include yoga, balloon animals, face painting and more.

- The Four Mile Run Farmers Market is open Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.in Four Mile Run Park at 4109 Mt Vernon Ave.
- The West End Farmers Market at Ben Brenman Park in the Cameron Station area is open Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- The Old Town North Farmers Market is open Thursdays from 4 - 7:30 p.m. at 901 N. Royal St.
