Oktoberfest starts Sept. 21 and Alexandria has plenty of ways to celebrate.
The Village Brauhaus started the party Oktoberfest Eve, Sept. 20, showcasing its traditional takes on German and Austrian cuisine and seven styles of Oktoberfest beers. Their Oktoberfest parties continue through Oct. 13. For details on those events, go to www.villagebrauhaus.com.
On Sept. 26, take a look at Theismann’s newly-renovated interior as you sample Port City brews during their take on Oktoberfest.
Carlyle’s Trademark Drink and Eat will host a reservation-only, six-beer, four-course meal on Sept. 27, 2019. Come for the warm pretzel bites paired with peach brown ale and stay for the braised bratwurst with Port City’s Optimal Wit.
On Sept. 28, Port City Brewing Company is hosting an outdoor party highlighting their signature Oktoberfest lager, brewed with German malt and hops. The event includes costume contests! Plus, enjoy Pizzeria Paradiso’s Neapolitan pies, fresh-baked pretzels from Village Brauhaus, and more.
Pups don’t get left out of the fun! Join Port City’s Dogtoberfest on Oct. 19 in partnership with Frolick Dogs sports club. Raise a glass to all things canine, from dog adoption to a bulldog kissing booth to an agility course and dog-themed trivia, as well food trucks for both human and doggie dining. A percentage of sales throughout the day will be donated to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.
