Urbano 116 will be closing for renovations later this month and reopening with a new look and a new menu.
In addition, Urbano 116 will open its second location in the Mosaic District this summer. The new restaurant will be at 2925 District Ave. #120, formerly occupied by Brine Restaurant.
Common Plate Hospitality, which operates Mason Social, Augie's Mussel House and Beer Garden as well as Urbano 116, announced the changes Friday.
The new menu, which will debut at Urbano 116 on Feb. 29, will feature more traditional Tex-Mex items from the kitchen. Nine taco options (braised chicken, grilled chicken, grilled steak, carnitas, shredded beef, smoked brisket, grilled shrimp, crispy fish and mushroom) with “made to order” tortillas will join hefty burritos, taco salads, enchiladas, chimichangas and sizzling fajita platters on the new menu.
The King Street Urbano 116 will close on Feb. 24th and re-open on Feb. 29th with the expanded menu and a new look after the light renovations are completed.
