The official grand opening of the Virginia Tech Innovation Campus takes place Friday morning, Feb. 28, 2025.
- Doors Open: 9:30 a.m.
- Ceremony Begins: 10 a.m.
- Building Open House: 11:45 a.m. – 2:30 p,m. (Light lunch and refreshments will be served)
- Academic Building One, 3625 Potomac Ave.
This event will feature keynote speaker Dr. Regina Dugan, president and CEO of Wellcome Leap and two-time Virginia Tech alumna, alongside government officials, university leaders, and other notable guests.
Can't make it in person?
Tune into the livestream of the opening celebration for Virginia Tech's Innovation Campus Academic Building One, Feb. 28, at 10 a.m.
Due to the anticipated high volume of attendees, seating within the tent will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure a seat, organizers strongly encourage guests to arrive early. Overflow seating will be available inside the building, where the ceremony will be live-streamed prior to the luncheon and open house.
Limited Parking is available, however public transportation is recommended.
Potomac Yard-VT Metro
Academic Building One is located less than a block away from the Potomac Yard-VT Metro on the Blue and Yellow lines.
Event Parking
Free event parking is available on a first come basis in the nearby gravel lots located between University Drive and Potomac Avenue. Parking attendants will be onsite to assist.
Limited ADA parking is available onsite in the adjacent lot to Academic Building One, which can be entered via University Drive from Potomac Avenue.
Garage Parking
Paid garage parking is available on a first-come basis, located underneath the building.
Street Parking
Street parking is available with the ParkMobile app.
NOTE: Organizers recommend that you do not park in the Target or shopping center parking lots, as they have strict towing policies.
