The Alexandria Film festival is hosting a screening of “The Arc of Oblivion” to commemorate the 275thanniversary of the city of Alexandria.
The screening will be Friday, July 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Lyceum (201 S. Washington St).
“The Arc of Oblivion” is a documentary by Ian Cheney that explores how humans archive memories and record experiences. Following the film, a panel discussion will be held as well as a special presentation by Alexandria City High School students.
The panel discussion will aim to answer the central question of the film: What is worth saving, and why?
The presentation by ACHS students will announce a special project centered around remembrance, which aims to answer this question from the youth perspective.
Tickets to the screening are $15 and can be bought here or at the door.
