While this week will be a bit soggy around town, sunny spring and summer days are just around the corner. Summer officially begins Friday, June 20 but it's never too soon to start planning some fun activities.

· WorldPride and Alexandria Pride
o Alexandria welcomes LGBTQ+ couples, families and friends to stay in and explore the city duringWorldPride 2025 from May 17 to June 8, 2025, and beyond.
o Visitors can take advantage of special WorldPride hotel packages at The Alexandrian, Hotel AKA Alexandria, Hotel Heron and Morrison House.
o Alexandria continues the fun with events in June including Pride at Torpedo Factory Art Center on June 13, the Priday Market & Drag Show at Port City Brewing Company on June 14 and the 8thAnnual Alexandria Pride Fair on June 28.
o Stop by Market Square the last weekend in June for the perfect photo op with the Pride-themed"LOVEwork" letters, from Virginia Tourism.

- Black History and Culture
o Alexandria Juneteenth events on June 19 include a Juneteenth Celebration at the Athenaeum, Tell Me Your Name specialty tours at Carlyle House and the Washington Revels Jubilee Voices Juneteenth Concert at City Hall/Market Square.
o Explore Alexandria’s Black history and culture in honor of Juneteenth and support Alexandria’s Black-owned businesses.
- Re-launched Water Taxi Route
o The gameday commute just got a major upgrade! As of April 21, City Cruises re-launched the Navy Yard Loop, transporting riders between Old Town Alexandria and D.C.’s Navy Yard, directly connecting fans to Nationals Park, Audi Field and the Navy Yard district.
- Festivals and Events
- Enjoy Alexandria’s waterfront this summer with events including the ALX Jazz Fest on June 14, the Alexandria & USA Birthday Celebration on July 12 and the Around the World Cultural Food Festival on August 23.
- Summer is a great time to explore Alexandria’s neighborhoods. In Del Ray, check out the 16th annual Taste of Del Ray on June 1 and the Bands and Brews Summer Bar Crawl on August 16. In Carlyle, get your fill of Beats Bites and Brews on July 26.
- Alexandria Restaurant Week will return this August and once again feature special prix fixe menus plus fast casual offers from dozens of restaurants across Alexandria.
- Shop Around
- The annual Old Town Arts & Crafts Fair, featuring local and regional artisans, is happening June 7 in Waterfront Park.
- One of the longest-running seasonal summer shopping events—Alexandria Summer Sidewalk Sale—returns to the D.C. region’s “Shop Small” destination on August 9.
