The Mount Vernon Big Flea is back—and this year, it’s bigger, better, and ready to make a difference! After over a decade as one of Del Ray’s favorite community fundraisers, the beloved MV Big Flea returns to the Mount Vernon Recreation Center Gym on Saturday, April 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Residents from across Alexandria and beyond are invited to browse an amazing array of treasures, from vintage furniture and home décor to books, toys, tools, and more—all at unbeatable prices. And it’s all for a great cause: Every penny raised directly supports programs at Mount Vernon Community School.
To stock this year’s event, organizers are holding "Fill-the-Flea" donation drives, with the next opportunity to donate gently used items set for Sunday, March 23, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the corner of Oxford Avenue and Mount Vernon Avenue. Whether it's that quirky lamp, extra kitchen gadget or outgrown kids’ toys, all donations will help create a fantastic shopping experience while raising essential funds for local students.
Doors for the Big Flea open promptly at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, and treasure hunters can shop their hearts out until 1 p.m. Pro tip: all items are half-price starting at noon, and whatever’s left at 1 p.m. is free—making sure everything finds a new home and nothing ends up in the landfill. It’s a win-win for community and sustainability.
Don't miss this opportunity to declutter, discover great deals, and support local students—all in one exciting event!
