National Harbor’s popular holiday tree-lighting event takes place this Saturday, Dec. 8. The day includes Santa at the Carousel from noon to 2 p.m. and at the Capital Wheel from 2-4 p.m. (both require a paid ticket)at the National Harbor's Waterfront Plaza.
"A Pink Panther Christmas" (1978) will be shown Saturday at 4:45 p.m. on the waterfront screen (at no charge). The film will be followed at 5:30 p.m. by the lighting of the 54-foot Christmas tree and then fireworks will light up the sky, commemorating National Harbor’s 10th anniversary.
If you miss the event Saturday, take note: In honor of the 10th anniversary of National Harbor, the destination has expanded its tree-lighting ceremony and fireworks to take place every Saturday through Dec. 22.
Toys for Tots will also be on site Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. collecting new, unwrapped toys.

- 12 noon - 2 p.m.: Santa at the Capital Wheel
- 4:45 p.m. Holiday Movie: A Pink Panther Christmas (1978)
- 5:30 p.m. Tree Light Show and Fireworks
