Fourth of July festivities, as always, are coming early at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. The first president’s estate will be the first to celebrate America’s independence in the region with fireworks, music, games and more.
The event will run from 6 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. on June 28 and 29, with June 30 set aside in case it rains.
Tickets are $36 for adults and $26 for youths (ages 6-11) with a tour of the Mansion included. Tickets without the Mansion tour are $30 for adults and $20 for youths. A separate ticket is needed and it does not include daytime admission to the Estate. Admission is free for children 5 and under.
Other highlights include 18th-century dancing and ice cream-making demonstrations, and the chance to visit Washington’s Tomb after the sun goes down.

On July 4, Mount Vernon will celebrate Independence Day with daytime fireworks over the Potomac River, plus special military re-enactments throughout the day. The July 4 events are included with regular Mount Vernon Estate admission.
