The Del Ray Citizens Association is pleased to announce the 2026 First Thursday season — a free, monthly neighborhood celebration held in Pat Miller Square on the first Thursday of each month from May through July, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event is free and open to all.
Upcoming First Thursday dates and themes:
- May 7 — “It’s A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,” sponsored by Alexandria Hyundai
- June 4 — “Field Day,” sponsored by the Del Ray Farmers Market
- July 2 — “America 250,” Sponsored by The Jen Walker Team
Del Ray Citizens Association has assumed responsibility for organizing and presenting this beloved neighborhood tradition, continuing the legacy established by the Del Ray Business Association, which founded and produced First Thursday for nearly 30 years. Learn more at delraycitizens.org.
In 2026, Del Ray Artisans will have special extended gallery hours on the First Thursday of the month from through June. Come check out the exhibits from 12-9 p.m.! The gallery is free to browse and all ages are welcome.
From May 1–23, 2026, Del Ray Artisans gallery is hosting the Alexandria City High School Titan Student Art Exhibition and shining a spotlight on our city’s flourishing young artists.
