The Del Ray Artisans Gallery will debut its "Toy Stories" art exhibit with a reception Friday, Jan. 2 from 7-9 p.m. at the gallery, located at 2704 Mount Vernon Ave. in Alexandria's Del Ray neighborhood. Attendees will get a chance to meet curator Gordon Thomas Frank and the artists.
The exhibition will be on display through Jan. 31.
Celebrating the toys cherished as kids, the Toy Stories art exhibit at Del Ray Artisans brings a fun, nostalgic vibe to visitors and highlights the unique skills of numerous local artists who have crafted pieces reflecting nostalgia, admiration, and consumer culture of the toy world across a broad spectrum of media.

Gallery hours are Thursday 12 noon-6 p.m., Friday 12 noon-9 p.m., Saturday 12 noon-6 p.m., and Sunday 12 noon-6 p.m. (closed Feb. 1).
The gallery is free, open to the public and accessible. Del Ray Artisans, a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote art for the benefit of artists and the community.
