Get ready to step back in time at this flashback FUNdraiser for a nostalgic journey through the iconic 80’s. Break out your vintage Miami Vice-style suits, neon colors, acid-washed jeans, loafers, and headbands to celebrate in style with delicious bites and refreshing beverages prepared by Chef Kenneth Clay, Founder of I Just Wanna Cook and former Executive Chef of Holland America’s Westerdam Cruise. Guests will enjoy listening to DJ Jun Tao spinning the greatest hits from the 80’s and beyond, have fun bidding on curated silent auction packages, and partake in a spirited live appeal while supporting economically-marginalized families living in Alexandria.
“Virtue Feed & Grain has returned for a second year as the presenting sponsor and ALX Community as the venue sponsor," said Lynn Thomas, executive director of Community Lodgings.
"We are grateful for and encouraged by the ongoing support Community Lodgings has received from the Alexandria community," she said.
"Our work strengthens and lifts disadvantaged families and moves them from instability to independence,” Lynn Thomas noted. “97% of our resident families are working at least one job, many have multiple jobs and yet, they cannot afford basic necessities, such as housing, healthcare, food and childcare.”
