A free classic car show is set for Saturday, Sept. 20 at The Lyceum parking lot, located at 201 S. Washington St. in Old Town Alexandria.
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Co-sponsored by Packards Virginia and the Office of Historic Alexandria, the show will feature a variety of Packards ranging from the 1930s–1950s as well as other “orphan” vehicles that are invited to register as well. Orphan cars are any brand of vehicle built by an out-of-business manufacturer.
Automobile highlights include a 1933 Packard Coupe Roadster, a 1934 Packard Formal Sedan, and a 1940 Packard Convertible Sedan, as well as rare finds such as a 1934 Hudson Terraplane Coupe, a 1953 Morgan, a 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk, a 1967 Pontiac GTO, a 1970 Oldsmobile ’98, a 1970 DeTomaso Pantera, and a 1988 Austin Mini. With something for every car enthusiast, this gathering offers a rare opportunity to see these remarkable vehicles up close.
Car lovers and history buffs alike will enjoy the chance to admire these beautifully preserved classics and unique rarities.
Visitors are also encouraged to step inside The Lyceum to explore exhibitions that tell the full scope of Alexandria’s rich history and enjoy the museum shop.
