Join George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate for a special family program exploring how chocolate was made in the 18th century.
Participate in a scavenger hunt in the historic area and discover locations and ingredients that were important to chocolate production. After finding the ingredients, observe how chocolate was made in George Washington’s time while learning about the history and science behind chocolate production.
This event is Jan. 26 from 1 – 3 p.m.
Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult; allow 10-15 minutes to walk from the Main Entrance to the Interpretive Center to meet your guide.
