Beats, Bites and Brews returns to Alexandria.
Pack a picnic blanket: Beats, Bites and Brews comes to John Carlyle Square Park on Saturday, Aug. 1, running 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 300 John Carlyle St.
The daylong outdoor festival pairs live music with a lineup of local food vendors, a beer garden serving cold drinks, and a marketplace of artisans and crafters selling everything from handmade goods to summer fashion. Organizers are billing it as a laid-back, family-friendly way to spend a summer Saturday, with games and activities alongside the music.
The event is organized through the Carlyle Community, which hosts a slate of programming in the neighborhood's central green space throughout the year. John Carlyle Square sits a short walk from the Eisenhower Avenue Metro station, and organizers note that public parking lots and garages nearby should handle the crowd.
