The Traditional Music Series at the Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum continues this week with a special St. Patrick’s celebration featuring the Irish Breakfast Band on Saturday, March 14 at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online in the Historic Alexandria Shop.
“An Evening of Irish Music” brings one of the Washington region’s most beloved Irish music ensembles to the historic Lyceum, located at 201 S. Washington Street in Alexandria. Irish Breakfast Band performances often feature 15 or more musicians, often several fiddles and flutes, a guitar or two, a drummer, a hammered dulcimer, banjo, pipes, and at least one vocalist.

The band performs regularly throughout the Washington metropolitan area at major events including the Washington Folk Festival and Art on the Avenue in Alexandria, as well as numerous regional concert series. The March 14 performance offers audiences a chance to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day early with an energetic evening of traditional Irish music in an intimate historic setting.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door, with $5 tickets for children 17 and under. Free snacks will be available, and a beer and wine cash bar will be offered. Proceeds from ticket sales, cash bar, and tips benefit theOffice of Historic Alexandria.
