“ALX Community is proud to collaborate with The Garden to produce the Alexandria Drive-In Theatre: safe, socially-distant family movies this fall,” said Kelly Grant, Chief Operating Officer for ALX Community. “When we created ALX Community, our intention was always to be more than a coworking space; adding Community in our name was very purposeful and conveys the inclusivity with our city's residents we strive for daily. Not only do we provide an amazing workspace for our members, we give back regularly to the city we love. Our fall series of movies will hopefully lighten your heart and any worries you have while you and your neighbors enjoy a few hours together, apart.”
“I love movies. I always have,” said Allen Brooks, Chief Operating Officer of The Garden. “I have some of my favorite memories going to the old Skyline Theaters and seeing everything I could. During this pandemic, we want to be able to bring an opportunity to gather again and experience the joy of watching some of the classics and contemporary favorites. We at The Garden are so excited to partner with ALX Community and bring movies to Alexandria during these distant times. We are also pleased this movie series will bring funds to two awesome local charities.”
Masks are required at check-in and whenever outside the vehicle. Each vehicle will receive a garbage bag for guests to bin their own trash and to carry out post-screening. Gates open at 7:30 p.m and movies start at 8:30 p.m.
The ticket cost is $30 per car, per movie in which all proceeds from the movie series will benefit two Alexandria based local charities: ACT for Alexandria and Athena Rapid Response.
The Alexandria Drive-In Theater is made possible by our top signature partners Alexandria Economic Development Partnership, Yates Automotive, Jillian Keck Hogan Real Estate Group, and Comfort One Shoes. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available.
