Coming up this weekend, Alexandria Symphony Orchestra Maestro James Ross takes the
stage as soloist and conductor for Mozart’s classic Horn Concerto No. 2. Then percussionist Lee Hinkle performs Kevin Puts’ evocative Marimba Concerto, as the program concludes with Schubert’s much heralded Symphony No. 9 “The Great.”
There are two performances this weekend - Saturday, Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rachel Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center and Sunday, Feb. 16 at 3 p.m. at the George Washington Masonic Memorial.

Later this spring, members of the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, led by Music Director James Ross, return to the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with a program featuring Johann Sebastian Bach’s Concerto for Three Violins and the Goldberg Variations arranged by conductor and violinist Dmitry Sitkovetsky. All seating is general admission. That performance is set for Sunday, March 21 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
For their season finale, the Symphony pairs the iconic William Tell Overture with recent works by Claire Assad and Carlos Simon. Renowned pianist Vijay Venkatesh brings the season to a close with Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2. Performances are set for April 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rachel Schlesinger Concert Hall and April 27 at 3 p.m. at the George Washington Mason Memorial
